DJ Andy Soul
GET TO KNOW DJ ANDY SOUL
"Renderer of soulful dance vibes and a party-igniter like no other."
That's how DJ Andy Soul described himself. His eclectic mixology is best described as a story of melodic-infused blends with influences in Hip Hop, RnB, Dancehall/Afrobeats, Reggaeton, Pop, and EDM music.
His passion for music transcends mixing tunes. Growing up, he adopted his parents' appreciation for Motown and Funk. As well, his love for Hip Hop started at a young age through his interest as a break-dancer and as a graffiti/portrait artist. Throughout his teens, he found much joy in making his own mixtapes for family and friends.
DJ Andy Soul continued on his musical pursuits as a saxophonist with his high-school jazz band and then years later, as the lead singer of cover band, “Phazers On Stun,” performing at various Vancouver based venues. He eventually started his own mobile DJ company, Andy Soul Entertainment, which continues to be his passion to this day as he is booked solid for events each year. He has maintained a 5-Star business testimonial rating on Weddingwire.ca.
As a DJ, he has performed for numerous corporate clients over the years including for Pemberton Music Festival, VGC International School, New Image College, Fitness World, SpinHouse, Gold’s Gym, and Armani Exchange, just to name a few. He was also resident DJ at both Moxie's Bar & Grill Guildford and the “ILoveKickBoxing” Coquitlam studio for several years. He has recently developed his DJ’ing skill further as a Scratch DJ, and enjoys cutting up samples on a fresh beat.
During the onset of the pandemic, he kept his mixing skills sharp by live streaming his DJ sets as a hired Social Media Broadcaster on a highly popular social media app. As such, he was able to broaden his musical repertoire and MC’ing skills for a worldwide audience and was booked for several virtual parties.
Singer, Artist, Promoter, Social Media Broadcaster, MC, and mobile DJ company owner/operator - these roles have contributed to his skill as a renowned DJ.
But most importantly, he believes it is all about setting up the vibe on the dance floor, taking the party-goers on a musical journey, and maintaining the energy, regardless of era, tempo, or genre of music.
